Hannelore Zelenková, surname Zatloukalová, was born on 27 April 1941 in Šumperk as an only child to parents of German nationality. Her father, Hanz Zatloukal, had to enlist in the German army and was reported missing in September 1941 after a firefight near Ivanovo Gora, Russia. He was declared dead in 1948. When the Germans were deported after the war, all his relatives had to be transported, but Hannelore and her mother Maria were taken out, probably because of her health. The witness quickly picked up Czech and after a few years forgot German completely. After medical school, she worked as a nurse in several hospitals and spas. In Bludov she met Pavel Zelenka. They married, had a daughter Hanka in 1963 and then moved to her husband‘s birthplace in Vlašim. Pavel Zelenka was in the Communist Party in his youth, but he left the party shortly afterwards, which had an impact on their daughter‘s education - she was not admitted to the pedagogical school. Hannelore Zelenková worked at the rehabilitation centre in Kladruby until her retirement in 1998. At the time of recording, in 2026, she lived in Vikýřovice.
