Jiří Boček was born on August 20, 1946 in Prague. When his brother Karel, the former CEO of the Uranium Industry, escaped from custody through the window of the Pankrác prosecutor‘s office on July 6, 1971, Jiří Boček and his family helped him escape to Germany. Jiří Boček trained as a mechanic in the 1960s. From 1969 he worked in Prague as a driver for the ministry. From the very first day of his brother‘s escape, he was followed by State Security. When his brother Karel was already abroad, but State Security did not know it yet, he took over a false passport for his brother from the State Security officers. He eventually burned the passport. After revealing the details of the escape through a family friend, Věra Němečková, Jiří was not arrested, but only investigated at large. He was not punished. Soon after his escape, he changed jobs and became a car racer.
